There will be Academic Assistance this week Monday and Wednesday in the IMC from 3:30-4:30. Transportation home can be provided
This week, we're celebrating our amazing Special Olympic athletes representing Normal West with a themed Spirit Week! Each day, show your school spirit by dressing up according to the theme posted around the building. During lunch, stop by the atrium—if you're participating in the spirit day, you can enter our daily raffle for a chance to win a gift card! You can also visit the table in the atrium to learn more about the Special Olympics and how to support our athletes. Let’s make it a great week full of pride, inclusion, and Wildcat Energy!
The second round of The Body Project is about to begin. Did you know that by age 13, over 50% of young women are dissatisfied with their body, and by age 17, that number rises to 78%? In fact, up to 80% of all teenagers, regardless of gender, report having body image issues in high school, and that number continues to climb in college. If you’re ready to feel confident in your body and to help others do the same, join The Body Project, an evidence-based, eating disorder prevention program that trains students to mentor each other in countering toxic cultural messaging around body image. If you’re interested in participating, please complete this google form by Monday, April 21. The two sessions will run Thursday, April 24 and Thursday, May 1. Reach out to Ms. Reiman (reimana@unit5.org) with any questions.
Attention all students interested in playing in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament Friday, May 2, in the South Gym during WestFest. Team captains only will sign up when dismissed for WestFest in Room 200. The tournament is limited to the first 16 teams. Teams can be coed or student/faculty mixed, and can have four players. Rules are posted on the Math Office bulletin board. If you have questions, please see Mr. Beaty.
Seniors: Your Senior brick sketch and $10 is due Friday. Don’t forget to sign up for a painting time on Sign Up Genius.
Please join the Junior Class at the Bone Student Center for this year's prom, Royal Masquerade, on May 3rd from 7:30-10:30 PM. Tickets are on sale until Wednesday, April 30th. Flyers have been placed around the school with the QR code that can be used to access tickets through Go Fan, or they can also be purchased via the following link: https://gofan.co/event/3305535schoolId=IL21435. Tickets are $35 apiece and you will need your student ID # from Infinite Campus to be able to purchase. If you are planning on attending Prom with a guest who is not a Junior or Senior at West, you will need to complete a Guest Form. Guest forms can be picked up in the Main Office and need to be turned into your Assistant Principal by Friday, April 25th to be given a guest code for purchase.
